Why practical, role-based learning matters more than another tool rollout.

Confidence comes from practice

A tool rollout does not automatically create capability. Teams need time to practise on realistic tasks, understand the limitations and learn how to check outputs. Training should reflect the work people actually do.

Build around roles, not just tools

A finance team and a sales team may use similar AI tools in very different ways. Design exercises around their tasks, approved information and review responsibilities. This makes learning relevant and easier to apply.

Teach judgement alongside prompting

Writing a clear request is useful, but recognising an unreliable answer is equally important. Teach teams to verify claims, protect confidential information and know when AI is not the right choice.

Make learning an ongoing habit

Give teams shared examples, opportunities to discuss mistakes and clear internal guidance. Track practical adoption through real workflow improvements rather than simply counting course attendance.
